Canada’s archipelago in the high Arctic is a diverse and little-explored corner of the globe. Situated in the northern extremity of North America, and covering about 1,424,500 km2, this group of 36,563 islands comprises much of the territory of northern Canada.
As the region is home to iconic northern animals such as caribou, arctic wolves, foxes, muskoxen, and grizzly and polar bears, you will want your cameras handy. You can hike on Bylot, Axel Heiberg, Devon, and Ellesmere Islands, and sea kayak in the fiords of Ellesmere Island, or paddle the Thomsen River on Banks Island, NWT.
