I’m Goliah Makletzoff-Cazon, Dehcho Dene from Łíídlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation. I was raised on the land in the Dehcho, hunting and trapping with my family and living a traditional, land-based lifestyle that continues to guide how I learn, lead, and relate to the world around me.
I work as the Program Coordinator with Northern Youth Leadership, where my focus is creating real, meaningful opportunities for youth and Indigenous people to reconnect with the land, culture, and themselves. I believe the land teaches responsibility, humility, and leadership in ways that can’t be learned anywhere else.  I’ve been working with Black Feather for the past four years, and what I value most is sharing time on the land with others. I bring a calm, grounded presence and a deep respect for the places we travel through, and I enjoy sharing stories and histories of the land based on what I’ve learned over time. I believe being outside together creates space for learning, reflection, and connection—for individuals, groups, and communities alike.
