Hi I’m Kim! I have always been happiest when outside exploring, and I’m grateful to have turned that passion into a life of guiding others into the wilderness. I was introduced to canoeing as a child and quickly fell in love with it, paddling on waters all across Canada with friends, family and as a part of Wanapitei Canoe Tripping Camp. I have been a wilderness guide since 2016, and nothing beats sharing the joy of river travel, incredible wildlife viewing, stunning landscapes, and the rich history and importance of Canada’s unbelievable regions. Some of my favourite trips have been on the Keele, the Bonnet Plume and Wind Rivers in the Yukon’s Peel Watershed, as well as the Bloodvein River in Manitoba. My passion for paddling and swimming in rapids also led me to pursue becoming a Whitewater Rescue Instructor. When not guiding river trips or teaching rescue, I am an elementary teacher at W. Ross Macdonald school for the blind in Brantford ON. I have taught a number of subjects including outdoor education, where I have been so lucky to be a part of helping blind and low vision students learn to love nature as much as I do.
