Hi my name is Sam, and I joined the Black Feather team in 2025! I have had a passion for rivers and the wilderness since I was a kid. Growing up on Georgian Bay, playing in the water and on the rocks is what I would consider to be the root of this passion. I first began to paddle whitewater at age 8 in both kayaks and canoes, which got me firmly hooked on paddling. My favourite sensations come from guiding and the outdoors, whether it be styling an exhilarating rapid or eating a snack with a stunning view. I am grateful that guiding takes me to amazing and seldom explored places, in the company of a variety of awesome and interesting people. I also cross-country ski competitively, and run and bike during the warm seasons. I look forward to seeing you on the river!
