We thank you for your interest in a Black Feather trip and appreciate your desire to get into the wilderness or on to a beautiful river or coastline. We are grateful to have been able to provide wonderful canoeing, kayaking and hiking trips this past summer in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. Following COVID protocols for our packing centre, van shuttles and during trips allowed us to keep our participants, guides and staff safe, while enjoying the benefits that an escape into the wilderness can provide. Thanks to all the Black Feather participants who joined us, your spirit and enthusiasm made the trips so special.
Black Feather is proud to have the opportunity to work with countless local community members and organizations throughout Canada and abroad. Their support has allowed us to offer so many of our exciting and memorable wilderness adventures over the years. We have and will continue to respect their wishes and advice, as well as recommendations put forth by local, provincial and federal governments for the sake of everyone’s safety and well-being. This continues to be a challenging time for all involved which requires patience, understanding, flexibility and support for one another.
For the summer of 2020, there were restrictions in place in the Yukon, NWT and Nunavut and as a result we did not operate any trips in those jurisdictions. As the 2020 season winds down and we look to 2021, we will continue to keep in touch with our colleagues and government and tourism officials of those territories. It is still unclear as to what the situation will be for summer of 2021, but we will endeavour to keep you posted with the most current news. We are certainly hoping to have a northern season in 2021, for which we have already released a tentative schedule - more information can be found by browsing the Destinations page.
In 2021, we will offer a robust selection of trips in BC, Ontario & Quebec. You will be able to canoe a wild river, kayak along an amazing coastline, hike through incredible mountain scenery or ski/snowshoe through pristine snow. Whether you reside in one of these provinces or not, we encourage you to contact us or consult this link for updated information regarding the regulations and recommendations relating to international and inter-provincial travel.
If you wish to register for a trip with us in Summer 2020, we ask that you submit a deposit of 25% of the trip fee plus applicable tax upon registration. We will then contact all registered participants with an update about the status of their trip and information on the next steps.
If you wish to register for a trip with us for programs in 2021, we ask that you begin by submitting your information via email or through this Black Feather webpage. To secure your spot, we ask for a deposit of at least 25% of the trip fee, plus applicable tax – in some cases the deposit amount may be lower or higher, depending on where your trip takes place and how close to the start date you wish to register. We outline our deposit, payment and cancelation policies clearly in our documents which will be sent to you upon your request to register.
We sincerely hope to see you on an adventure with us in the future and we look forward to planning one with you in the meantime!
