Covid-19 Update

We thank you for your interest in a Black Feather trip and appreciate your desire to get into the wilderness or on to a beautiful river or coastline. Black Feather is proud to have the opportunity to work with countless local community members and organizations throughout Canada and abroad. Their support has allowed us to offer so many of our exciting and memorable wilderness adventures. We have and will continue to respect their wishes and advice, as well as recommendations put forth by local, provincial and federal governments for the sake of everyone’s safety and wellbeing. This is a challenging time for all involved which requires patience, understanding, flexibility and support for one another.

With these things in mind, we must respect the guidelines and restrictions in place in the Yukon, NWT and Nunavut and as a result we will not be operating trips there during the 2020 summer season. We will continue to keep in touch with all our colleagues and friends there and we have our sights set on a more successful season in 2021, for which we have already released a tentative schedule - more information can be found by browsing the Destinations page.

We will continue to offer a limited selection of trips in BC, Ontario & Quebec during the 2020 Summer season. Whether you reside in one of these provinces or not, we encourage you to contact us or consult this link for updated information regarding the regulations and recommendations relating to international and inter-provincial travel.

Due to the fact that many of our expeditions in these regions require several layers of preparation to ensure a smooth and safe trip for everyone involved, we will be reassessing each trip's "runability" at 30 days prior to its start date. For our whitewater paddling clinics in Ontario, we will do this at 21 days prior.

If you wish to register for a trip with us in Summer 2020, we ask that you submit a deposit of 25% of the trip fee plus applicable tax upon registration. At 30 or 21 days – depending on which type of trip you are registered for – we will contact all registered participants with an update about the status of their trip and information on the next steps.

Until these points in time, participants may cancel their participation in a trip and receive a refund, minus a $100.00 CAD administrative fee. This administrative fee will be applied to a gift certificate for any future Black Feather trip in Canada in 2020 or 2021. Participants can also choose to transfer their deposits to a trip later in the 2020 season or to a trip in 2021, free of charge.

More information will be available to our registered participants and we sincerely hope to see you on an adventure with us in the future, whether it is sooner or later!
