This five-day sea kayaking expedition in northern Georgian Bay begins near the town of Spanish, Ontario. From there we’ll head out into Whaleback Bay bound for Whitefish Falls at the end of the Bay of Islands – over 60 km to the east. We’ll follow a winding channel through windswept granite islands, with gnarled and twisted pines. There will be some open crossings with waves and swells. Each afternoon we’ll set up camp on an island or in some lost cove. We’ll swim in the warm waters, dine on the rocky shore, and enjoy the famous Georgian Bay sunsets.

The North Channel is more remote and less travelled than other parts of Georgian Bay. The paddling is less protected; the shoreline rugged and beautiful. This is an excellent choice for a paddler with some previous experience.
