The Hornstrandir Nature Reserve and Ísafjarðardjúp Bay are considered the best sea kayaking destinations in Iceland. The sheer basalt mountains stretch from the sea to the sky chaotically divided by deep fjords, secluded alcoves and valleys. Numerous bird species spend the summer in this area, as do whales, dolphins and seals.

On this six day sea kayak tour, we will spend the first three nights in comfortable accommodation at Kviar Lodge, followed by two nights of camping on remote beaches. During the day, we will paddle under towering cliffs while negotiating waves and rocks which demonstrate nature’s raw power. We will take time to explore rocky coves and inlets and try our hand at surfing small waves should we encounter any. This trip is run in cooperation with our local Icelandic partner, Borea.
