Nahɂą Dehé (the South Nahanni River) is one of the world’s great wilderness destinations. It is the experience of a lifetime to explore this remote, pristine, alpine river valley. You will discover a mountainous wonderland with breath-taking canyons, a magnificent waterfall, diverse wildlife, and exciting paddling on the fast-flowing river. The trip is highlighted by fun Class I and II whitewater, interesting day hikes up tributary canyons, wildlife viewing and exploring Náįlįcho (Virginia Falls). This expedition will become one of your greatest shared family experiences – and the stories will be recounted for years to come.

Named by UNESCO the very first World Heritage Site, the Nahanni is definitely one of the world’s best canoeing rivers. The Nahanni “Classic for Families” trip is suitable for paddlers with some previous canoeing-camping and whitewater experience. We recommend that children be a minimum of 10 years of age for this adventure, but please speak to us if you think your child is ready and is a little younger.
